This trilogy is one of my (Maria) favorite series of all time. It's second on my list, right behind Harry Potter (but you can't hold that against the book, nothing can top hp).
This trilogy follows a girl named Juliette. Because of the decline of nature, genes began changing. Juliette was one of those affected by this change in human nature. She was born with a deathly touch. Her touch landed her a spot in the asylum. She had been isolated until one day she
This trilogy follows a girl named Juliette. Because of the decline of nature, genes began changing. Juliette was one of those affected by this change in human nature. She was born with a deathly touch. Her touch landed her a spot in the asylum. She had been isolated until one day she
was given a cell mate. Her new cell mate was not some random stranger, she remembered him. This trilogy is full of unexpected romances, adventure, and tons of twists and turns.
The writing in the first book is very poetic and many metaphors are used. Personally, I loved this about the book. However, I've heard that other people use this against the author by saying she's a poet and not a novelist. In my own opinion, the poetic writing fit perfectly into the novel. It wouldn't be the same without it. I did also notice that the writing got less poetic as the series went on. Since we are in Juliette's mind, it makes complete sense that her way of describing the story changes as her character evolves.
That leads us right into the next thing I would like to mention; character development. Juliette at the end of the trilogy is nothing like Juliette at the beginning of the story. She changed as she began to realize her own strength. Some of the other characters developed as well, but some only seemed to change. What I mean by that is some characters seem different at the end than the beginning, but that isn't due to a change. We simply learn more about the character and out perceptions of them change.
Out of a scale of 1 - 5, I give this book a full FIVE STARS! Let me know down below what you thought of the book!
